More detailed information has now come to light regarding the planned schedule for the construction of the £100m+ Bexhill-Hastings Link Road (BHLR), as well as the archaeological and ecological / environmental work that is legally required to take place before work-proper can begin.
See here and here for PDF files of correspondence between East Sussex County Council (ESCC) and Hochtief Vinci (HV) – the joint venture who won the contract for the design and construction of this environmental-disaster-in-the-making. More soon.
In the meantime, we simply note that according to this web-site, “Russian activists and journalists have survived beatings, arrests and intimidation during [their] campaign to save one of Moscow’s last old-growth forests from destruction” by a toll highway being constructed by Vinci.
