Anti-road Info Night at the Pogo Cafe in London (Mon 1 April)
March 20, 2013 by combehavendefenders
Screening of several short films about the anti-roads movement, past and present, followed by a talk with members of the Combe Haven Defenders.
The £100m Bexhill-Hastings Link Road (BHLR) is the ‘first and the worst’ of over 190 new road projects that the Government, local councils and Big Business want to roll out across England and Wales.
In many ways the BHLR is a line in the sand: stop it, and we help to derail the whole road-building programme before it gets going.
So far, the Road has met with stiff (though always peaceful) resistance, with 28 arrests and security costs of (allegedly) over £700,000. And we’ve only just gotten started!
