As the costs of the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road (BHLR) continue to spiral, an editorial in this week’s Hastings Observer (see below) notes that “anti-road sentiment is likely to spread”, asking “how expensive does it have to become before the perceived beneifts of the road do not outweigh the cost. And the what?”
With the cost of the BHLR currently set at £113m (but likely to rise still further), it’s still possible to save scores of millions of pounds – as well as the Combe Haven valley – by the pulling the plug on the project now.
We say Scrap the Road!
