On Wednesday 4 February, Hastings Borough Council’s planning committee will be making a decision on the planning application for the Queensway Gateway road. Join us outside the Town Hall to show the strength of opposition to this proposal, and to call on the committee to reject this application and save our green space.

If this application is passed, Hollington Valley Site of Nature Conservation Importance – described as ‘a very major wildlife corridor and one of the best wildlife habitats within the Borough’ – will be utterly destroyed.  The road is merely a bridgehead to allow the whole site to be covered in concrete to make yet another ‘enterprise park’.  There are two such parks (North Queensway and Enviro 21) within a stone’s throw of the proposed site.  Both have a huge amount of empty space.

Where: Main entrance, Hastings Town Hall, Queens Square TN34 1TL

When: 5.15pm (planning meeting starts at 6pm)

What: We’ll have a banner, but feel free to bring your own placard.

The meeting is open to the public so you may want to go in to see the committee considering the application.

If you haven’t objected to this application yet, it’s not too late!  Please take a moment to object now, here.
