Aspiring actor?  Thirsting thespian?  Would-be walk on?  This is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dramatise the undramatisable…

Combe Haven Defenders are planning a filmed re-enactment of the thrilling not-quite-ten minutes that Hastings council’s planning committee spent ‘debating’ the planning application for the £15m Queensway Gateway road.

With the application due to be reheard in the next few months, we want to make sure that everyone knows what keen attention the council paid to this important application on its first time around, in order that they might encourage their councillors to be equally conscientious next time.

The project will be led by CHD’s own Anthony Bradnum, a fantastic performance artist who guarantees that he will help you find your own inner councillor. We’ll be holding one or two rehearsals, then performing the play in public, and filming it, probably in mid-to-late November.

We’ll be working from the transcript of the meeting. There are four speaking roles, but we also need people to take on walk-on (well, sit-on) roles as the six councillors who didn’t speak in the discussion.  It’ll be fun, and it won’t take too much time.   Lack of talent is no bar: enthusiasm is all that’s required!
