Sign the pledge. We’ll contact you as soon as we know the date for the planning meeting.

The planning application for the Queensway Gateway road has been revoked, but sadly, that’s not the end of it. SeaChange has recently stated that ‘We understand that Hastings Borough Council is intending to reconsider the Queensway Gateway road scheme at a further planning committee meeting in the near future‘ (emphasis added).  Their confidence can be seen in their recent (thwarted) attempt to cut down more trees in Hollington Valley, even before the planning permission has been resubmitted.

Whilst it’s hard to see how they’re going to get round the very serious issue of air pollution, which caused the first application to be revoked, this suggests that they’re going to try to rubberstamp the plans once again. We need to be ready!

We want to pack the planning committee meeting when the road application is reconsidered, to show the strength of opposition to this destructive road. To that end, we’re asking people to sign a pledge to commit to coming to the planning meeting.  We’ll contact you as soon as we know the date for the meeting.

When:  No date has been set yet, but it will be on a Wednesday at 6pm.

Where:  Hastings town hall

Please sign up now so we can contact you as soon as we have a date. Stop the Queensway Gateway road!
